Un ritorno più che valido che fuma metallo classico per i Distant Past!
Che la Svizzera sia terra florida per le metal band non è proprio veritiero, ma che esista una scena underground da non sottovalutare questo è sicuro!

I Distant Past giungono tramite la tedesca Pure Steel Records a dare alle stampe questo full-length intitolato “The Final Stage”. Nascono nel lontano 2002, ma la stabilità la si raggiunge nel 2016, pubblicando intanto gli album “Alpha Draconis” (2010), “Utopian Void” (2014) e “Rise of the Fallen” (2016), quest'ultimo recensito sulle nostre pagine senza troppi elogi. Il gruppo che vede tra le proprie fila membri degli storicissimi Emerald (Jvo alla voce ed Adriano al basso) si muove su binari classici tra Saxon, Judas Priest ed Iron Maiden senza presentare nulla di nuovo ma con dieci pezzi e quaranta minuti di heavy metal pieno zeppo di passione. I momenti migliori li troviamo sulle note cavalcanti di “Staring At The Stars” che convince soprattutto grazie ad un bel refrain, nella tirata “Queen Of Sin” e con l'impatto immediato di “The Power Of Evil”. La tracklist incontra anche qualche momento meno esaltante e la sensazione è che la band sia molto più in palla e a proprio agio su brani veloci e cazzuti rispetto ai ritmi più controllati che si incontrano ad esempio con il mid-tempo “Fall From Glory”.

Un esempio di heavy metal puro e limpido, se amate queste sonorità un posticino per i Distant Past potreste trovarlo!

A more than valid return that smokes classic metal for Distant Past!
That Switzerland is a thriving land for metal bands is not exactly true, but that there is an underground scene that should not be underestimated that's for sure!

Distant Past come through the German Pure Steel Records to release this full-length entitled "The Final Stage". They were born in 2002, but stability was reached in 2016, while releasing the albums "Alpha Draconis" (2010), "Utopian Void" (2014) and "Rise of the Fallen" (2016), the latter reviewed on our pages without much praise. The group that sees among its ranks members of the very historic Emerald (Jvo on vocals and Adriano on bass) moves to classic tracks between Saxon, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden without presenting anything new, but with ten songs and forty minutes of  heavy metal full of passion. The best moments are found on the riding notes of "Staring At The Stars" which convinces above all thanks to a nice refrain, in the tirade "Queen Of Sin" and with the immediate impact of "The Power Of Evil". The tracklist also encounters some less exciting moments and the feeling is that the band is much more on the ball and at ease on fast and badass songs than the more controlled rhythms that are encountered for example with the mid-tempo "Fall From Glory".

An example of pure and clear heavy metal, if you love these sounds a place for Distant Past you might find!
